About Us

About Masata.

Led by a Singapore-based dermatology PhD, Masata focuses on formulation research rooted in pure, minimalist ingredients and genuine, inclusive care, delivering skincare solutions for mothers, babies, and children that are more scientific, effective, and safe.

Founded in 2002, the brand has long specialized in the children’s and adolescent cleansing and skincare sector. Guided by the research philosophy of “Minimalist Skincare, Scientific Care,” Masata focuses on age-specific skincare for children, aiming to integrate scientific cleansing and care throughout every stage of a child’s development—bringing fresh professional vitality to the children’s skincare market.

Founding Team Philosophy & Scientific Inspiration

Masata’s founding team is made up of skin science researchers and marine ecologists. Inspired by the concept of “marine minimalist balance”—where coral reef ecosystems remain stable with only a few key organisms—the team proposed the philosophy that skincare should function like an ocean system: building high-efficiency protection through streamlined ingredients.

Whether for:
delicate infant skin (0–3 years),
active children’s skin (3–12 years), or
fluctuating adolescent skin (12–18 years),

the core needs remain the same: gentle repair + effective protection.
Plant-derived squalane—known for mimicking the restorative power of deep-sea squalene while being gentler on skin—serves as Masata’s core protective ingredient, suitable across all stages of childhood skin development.

Brand Vision

To become the world’s leading brand in safe mother-and-child skincare.

Brand Mission

To ensure every child grows up healthy through scientific cleansing and skincare.

Brand Value Proposition

Children’s skin does not need “redundant ingredients.” Just as the ocean maintains balance through a minimalist ecosystem, true scientific skincare is about disciplined precision — using the fewest ingredients to address the skin’s core concerns effectively.

Core Ingredients.

Plant-Derived Squalane — Masata’s Signature

1. Powerful Hydration & Skin Barrier Repair
Squalane blends naturally with children’s skin lipid barriers, forming a breathable protective layer that reduces water loss and relieves dryness and cracking. Studies show it moisturizes better than common oils, with a lightweight, non-greasy texture suitable for all seasons.

Example:
Masata’s Baby Vernix Cream combines plant squalane with egg yolk oil essence to accelerate skin barrier repair and reduce recurring dryness and redness.

2. Soothing Sensitivity & Repairing Damage
Highly effective for eczema-prone, itchy, or sensitive skin.
Its anti-inflammatory properties reduce irritation caused by pollution or dry air, repair damaged keratin layers, and strengthen overall skin resilience.
